I’m teaching the Common Core Standards with a novel entitled Walk Two Moons. In the book, a mysterious stranger leaves one of the main characters a message that states, “Everyone has his own agenda.”
This is true. Everyone has his or her own agenda, which could be good or bad. The question is, what is your attitude when you reflect upon this?
When others are wrapped up in their own plans, thoughts, or theories, do you bristle or do you listen and connect?
We should love our neighbors, which includes loving them through (or in spite of) their agendas.
