Good work

I’ve found that in many instances, I’m really good at accomplishing things throughout the day that are unimportant. Clearing the inbox, checking my favorite websites and blogs, staying current on the news, watching the Daily Show… I fit a lot of things into my day that keep me busy, but don’t result in effective productivity.

Also, if I spend a lot of time on a particular task–whether it’s at work or at home–the large amount of time invested may give what I’m doing a level of importance it doesn’t deserve.

It’s essential to step back and reflect upon the fact that what you do is more important than how it’s done. It’s good to be efficient, but it’s even more important to be efficient at the right things. Otherwise, you’re spinning your wheels.
